The Haiku Project has announced that the second official alpha release of Haiku, an open-source operating system inspired by the Be Operating System, is now available for download.
As a fan and former user of the Be Operating System, I have been watching the development of Haiku with high hopes for a long time now. From time to time I downloaded the available snapshots and previous alpha release to see how things were progressing so it is of course only natural that as I type this the download of Alpha 2 is nearly complete.
I plan on giving Haiku a spin later on tonight and since I am thinking about it I will probably also be sending a little bit of money their way to help fund its development.
