Goodbye ATI, Hello nVidia

After years of only using ATI products as my video cards of choice I finally jumped ship today.

I purchased an GeForce FX 5200 and although it is not the best card on the market it suits my needs perfectly.

The reasons for my switch are fairly simple..

  • nVidia's drivers and utilities for GNU/Linux are simply superior to that of ATI.
  • The FX 5200 is fairly cheap (sub \$100 range) and more importantly it was also superior to that of my aging Radeon.

The dual VGA ports the FX 5200 has will be put to good use as soon as I find myself a decent secondary monitor. I am thinking about an LCD this time around.. does anyone have any suggestions?
