I have used Irssi and GNU Screen together for what seems to have been
well over a decade now. Both applications do the job required of them
quite well and as such they have always been one of the first things I
installed an a fresh system.
I stumbled upon a relatively new fork of mutt recently called mutt-kz.
It is a project which was created with the purpose of modernizing mutt
by heavily integrating notmuch, a fast mail indexer, into the client.

searching, tagging, virtual folders ...
I've been playing around with dvtm (dynamic virtual terminal
manager), a tiling window manager for the console, since I initially
read about it on K.Mandla's blog earlier in the month.
