When the Apple iPad was first announced, I was sort of skeptical about whether anyone would ever actually want to purchase one considering it looked like it was nothing more than a giant-sized iPod Touch.

However, after getting the chance to play around with an iPad for a few minutes at my local BestBuy yesterday I have to say that I actually do like the device after all and could see a multitude of uses that the iPad could fulfill. It would be a great device to use when sitting around in the living room away from my computers. It really is a shame that there is no viable open source / android alternative on the market.

Maybe it is the "Reality Distortion Field" going into effect, but even though it is a closed platform I am inclined to purchase one in the near future.
